The pipeline has expertise in technical domains such as mechanical recycling, thermo-chemical recycling, pretreatment of waste streams and chemical design of new polymers. But this is combined with knowledge on life cycle assessment, techno-economical assesment, design expertise … to achieve lasting impact. The consortium is also constantly reaching out to complementary expertise to expand the potential impact.
Next to that we also works closely with the spearheadclusters Catalisti and SIM, the Flemish government, cities (eg. City of Ghent ), OVAM, Fost Plust, ….
In concrete projects such as illustrated below, the pipeline collaborates with a wide industrial network to have a clear perspective on short and long-term industrial goals as well as get feedback on feasibility of ideas and collaborate on implementation of innovations.
In addition to plastics, this pipeline also extends to the textile domain, where many of the challenges are similar — from complex material compositions to the need for scalable recycling and circular value chains. To this end, CAPTURE collaborates with TEX IS MORE, the business development centre for sustainable textile innovation within the Ghent University Association. Through this collaboration, academic expertise is connected with market needs, fostering innovative solutions that accelerate the transition towards a circular textiles and fashion industry.
