Dr. Ir. Tom Rommens is a senior researcher at VITO’s Materials and Chemistry Unit, specializing in sustainable materials management and circular business models. He provides strategic advice to both public authorities and private companies on these topics. Tom holds a degree in Bioscience Engineering from KU Leuven (2002) and earned his PhD in Physical Geography in 2006. In 2021, he completed a Postgraduate degree in Energy and Climate. Prior to joining VITO, he spent five years as an environmental consultant and later served as Sustainability Manager for Saint-Gobain Construction Products (Gyproc) in the Benelux region.
