Prof. Stijn Luca is with the department of Data Analysis and Mathematical Modelling at Ghent University since 2018. Previously he was a postdoctoral researcher at KU Leuven and a visiting fellow at the University of Oxford. He obtained a MSc in Mathematics from KU Leuven and a PhD in Mathematics from Hasselt University, Belgium.
Stijn Luca’s broad research interest lies in the development and use of statistical methods to study data acquired from biological & industrial processes. Recent research topics include the study of extremes and anomalies, spatial data and sampling problems. He worked on a broad range of applications including industrial quality control, health informatics and the study of citizen science data.
