The VUB is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to investigate advanced adsorptive separation techniques experimentally and theoretically.
Position Description: The position is in the Chemical Engineering department of VUB, working within the Adsorption group. The candidate will conduct research on the adsorptive separation of organic acids.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct selective recovery and purification experiments for organic chemicals
• Formulate and characterize hybrid monoliths
• Investigate thermal swing capacity
• Model adsorption processes
• Collaborate with the research team to achieve project objectives
Candidate Profile:
• Hold a PhD in Chemical Engineering with a strong background in adsorption
• Passionate about adsorption and eager to take on challenging projects
• Dedicated, ambitious, and proactive in problem-solving
• Excellent English communication skills
• Additional expertise in process development, techno-economic analysis, and sustainability analysis is desirable but not mandatory
