The Particle and Interfacial Technology group (PaInT) is looking for a talented PhD student, who will work on the FWO project “Bringing forward osmosis closer to the market: novel membranes, module design and integrity monitoring”, which will kick off on January 1st, 2019. The project will in general deal with water recovery from polluted sources through membrane filtration, and is a collaboration between Ghent University, KU Leuven and UPC, Barcelona. The focus of this work will be membrane defects: the influence of defects on membrane transport properties; creation, detection and sealing of defects. The consequences of membrane defects on process performance will be investigated from a fundamental perspective.
The PaInT group focuses on physico-chemical water treatment processes, among which membrane filtration. We offer a diverse research group, having both an extended academic and industrial network.
