A new cohort of MSc students for the international Master of Science in Sustainable and Innovative Natural Resource Management (SINReM) have started their journey. 22 Students from all over the world (Spain, Italy, Mexico, Colombia, Nigeria, Singapore, Australia, ...) will be prepared to make the world more resource-efficient.
The program started with a kick-off event with keynote speakers from the organizing universities, EIT Raw Materials, VITO as strategic CAPTURE partner and Umicore as industrial partner of the programme.
SINReM is an international two-year MSc programme organized by Ghent University, Uppsala University (Sweden) and TU Bergakedemie Freiberg (Germany). Students move from one location to another during the different semesters in the programme. In the first year, students get a solid background in circular economy, recycling, georesource exploration, resource extraction and processing. In the second year, students choose a major at one of the partner universities, do an internship outside of academia and do their thesis with the non-academic sector. The SINReM activities in Ghent will be directly linked with the CAPTURE pipelines.
The SINReM programme was set up in the context of the Knowledge and Innovation Community EIT Raw Materials and was last year awarded with the EIT label, thanks to its entrepreneurial and international character. In addition, the programme is supported by the Erasmus+ programme. More information:
