CAPTURE, its research and projects are being picked up in high-impact scientific journals, in the newspapers and in technical magazines.
Recently, the top scientific journal 'Energy and Environmental Science' published a CAPTURE study on the upgrading of biogas to CO, which can be further converted to base or specialty chemicals. This study builds on earlier CAPTURE work, published in 'Science' in 2016. This new value chain could be an economically valuable alternative for the current subsidized combusion of biogas to energy.
CAPTURE professor Kim Ragaert was cited in De Standaard on the doubtable use of bioplastics and their sub-optimal recycling.
The journal of the Belgian water sector Aquarama published an article on the application of flow cytometry by Farys as the result of an intensive collaboration with CAPTURE.
The technical journal 'Fluids Processing' issued an article on the CAPTURE platform, the CAPTURE building and on the CAPRA project, in which UGent, Arcelor Mittal, OWS and Proviron will convert CO2 and CO to caproic acid, a high-value chemical.
